Part 1: Taking a Walk
The project involves student going to a bridge and using charcoal to capture the “sense” of the bridge and the experience of walk on and around the bridge. The bridge of my choice is the pathway between Porter Hall and Hamerschlag Hall on campus. Later students are required to create a gif that imagines how the bridge the its surrounding environment change over time.

A series of drawings consider the bridge's interaction with its environment

A gif that shows abstract analysis of the mentioned bridge and its connections to the surroundings.
Part 2: Systemic Shift + Claymation

Transformation - Slow Rotation - Final result

This project require students to use 4Ib of clay to make one sculptural transformation that represent a certain action. My assigned word was “slow rotation” and the transformation process of the clay is later recorded with drawing using charcoal on newsprint.

Clay form exploration

Corresponding Drawing exploration

Claymation - Slow Rotation

Capturing the transformation of clay with gif and abstract charcoal drawings.
Part 3: Ping-Pong Capture and Dynamic Echo Chamber
This project is  a part of the studio review on the assignment “ping pong capture”, which students use ping pong ball to map and drawings to capture the previously assigned word. Later on, the action is translated into clay sculptures and gifs to show the transformation of space and the represented action.
